Why it is a kit

The lights are potted solid — no bulb, no seam, nothing for the water to find — so the controls cannot live in them. They live in the transformer: color, brightness, the photocell and the timer, on buttons you press from the bank.

When a light fails, the unit you replace is the light; the cable and the transformer stay. Inside the warranty that replacement is ours — order number, product name, one photo.

The path lights, the spotlight and the bulbs are built the other way, with a stock bulb you can pull. We say which is which on every page.

6-light kit with its supplied transformer.

Where this light goes

Under the water or beside it, with the transformer dry on the bank. Ponds and fountains — not swimming pools.

Use it here

Pond edge and rocks Under the surface, aimed at the rocks or the fish.
Stream, waterfall Behind the fall or in the basin below it.
Fountain At the base, aimed up through the water.
Pond-side path Out of the water, on the bank — the cable reaches.

Not this light — use these

Paths, beds Path light — on a stake, in the ground.
Trees, house wall Spotlight or well light.
Color changing Pond light kit, RGB — 16 colors and a remote.
Twelve lights The RGB kit runs twelve; this one runs six.

What the cable covers

One cable, six lights, one transformer on the bank.
From the transformer Distance
To the first light 16.4 ft
Between lights 6.7 ft
First to sixth light 33 ft
Transformer to the last light about 50 ft

Adding lights to this kit is not supported; a second pond gets a second kit.

Putting it in

Set the transformer dry, on the bank, within reach of an outlet. Lay the cable along the edge, drop each light where it goes, weigh nothing down — the honeycomb front keeps it from floating. Plug in, press the buttons.

Runs on its own supply

The 28 W transformer runs the six. It plugs into an outdoor outlet and nothing else.

What the numbers mean

Five color temperatures on one kit: 2700 K for the evening, 5000 K to see the fish. Set on the transformer, all six together.

Sixteen feet to the first light and 6.7 between them: the transformer stays dry on the bank and the six reach 33 ft of edge.

IP68 and potted means the water pressure has nothing to push against. The honeycomb front lets it equalize instead of floating the light.

Questions people ask

Do I set the color on each light?

No — on the transformer, all six together. Five settings from 2700 K to 5000 K, and a dimmer.

Is the transformer included?

Yes — the 28 W transformer is in the box. It runs the six lights, holds the controls and plugs into an outdoor outlet; no landscape transformer needed.

Does it come on by itself?

Yes — the photocell turns it on at dusk and off at dawn, or the timer runs it for a set number of hours. It remembers the setting through a power cut.

Can I add lights?

Not to this kit — one cable, six lights. A second pond gets a second kit.

Can it go in a swimming pool?

No. It is for ponds, fountains and water features. A swimming pool needs lights listed for pools.

What is the warranty?

It is covered, on the terms for this product on the warranty page. A claim is the order number, the product name and one photo; the replacement ships from the U.S. warehouse. Warranty terms

Very nice lights for an area that gets a lot of water.

I figured since these are pond lights, I can use them in a garden that gets a lot of water, I was right. Very reliable and bright, the likes work very well. I like the color change and enjoy knowing I can switch it up for the holidays. It's very easy to install and it's completely water proof. Very good quality lights and timer/controller. Good value for these.

Water and Weatherproof, Self-Contained Transformer and Controls, Lots of Features

These pond lights by HIBOITEC are an all-in-one set. They come with their own mini-transformer for the 6 pond lights. The transformer controller can be used along with the photocell to set dusk to dawn lighting. It can also set white light color (2700/3000/3500/4000/5000K) and dim/brightness level. The controller also allows a timer to be set and remembers your last setting. The lights are IP68 certified with all-weather and waterproof design. There is ample cord length for installation of these lights. 16 feet from the transformer to the first light and then 6 feet between each light. The lights are made out of plastic yet have good weight to them so they don't float up.Overall, these are decent quality and with a lot of great features. It includes a 2-year warranty too. These seem like a good value at under $83 at the time of my order for 6 lights and a self-contained transformer with controller. Recommend.

All plastic, not exactly high end

The LED Pond Lights with 5 Color Temperature Options and Timer Transformer are a mixed bag of functionality and perceived quality. While they perform adequately—providing adjustable color temps from warm to cool and featuring a handy dusk-to-dawn sensor—the overall construction leaves something to be desired. Made primarily of plastic, they don’t quite justify their price. Although the transformer operates well and the lights can change colors, there’s a noticeable lack of sturdiness that makes them feel somewhat cheap and less reliable for long-term outdoor use.On the bright side, the innovative features make these lights user-friendly. The stepless dimming capability allows for customization of brightness, which is excellent for creating different atmospheres in your pond or garden. The all-in-one transformer adds convenience with its memory function, automatically restoring your last settings, while the IP68 waterproof rating promises durability against harsh weather conditions. The design also minimizes the risk of floating, ensuring that the lights stay submerged effectively. However, the lightweight materials could impact their longevity and performance over time.Installation is straightforward, thanks to the generous lead cable and tool-free setup, which means you can easily illuminate your outdoor spaces without professional help. While the lights serve their purpose and offer some impressive features, the overall feel and quality do not match the expectations set by the price. They are suitable for those looking for basic pond lighting, but if you are in the market for a more durable, premium product, you might want to explore other options. Overall, it’s a decent choice for a quick and easy lighting solution, but be prepared for a trade-off in material quality.

Quality made, no leaks, multiple on/off settings, great lights.

These pond lights provide the perfect light foe your garden pond, waterfall, or meandering stream. The lights have long cords so you can space out the six lights in different parts of your water feature. The light also have different light values to give you a warm yellow light or a bright white. The controller has different on/off settings where you can set the lights to go off after a certain amount of time or by photo sensor when it gets dark. They are sealed well to make them completely waterproof, and after a few days in the water I didn't see any condensation on the inside of the lenses, which tells me that these are a good quality build. The power connector is also sealed and after days of exposure to water and weather I couldn't find any water or dust intrusion into the plug either.

Beautiful Fountain Lights That Completely Changed My Backyard at Night

I installed these LED lights on my outdoor water fountain, and the difference at night is incredible. The six light heads provide excellent coverage, making the flowing water stand out beautifully after sunset. The fountain has become a real focal point in the backyard. One of my favorite features is the ability to choose between different white light color temperatures. It was easy to find the lighting that best matched the look I wanted, whether I was aiming for a softer evening glow or a brighter, more vibrant display. The built-in timer and photocell sensor have been extremely convenient. After the initial setup, the lights automatically turn on at dusk and shut off according to the timer, so I don’t have to think about them each evening. The lights feel well made, and the IP68 waterproof construction gives me confidence using them around moving water. Installation was straightforward, and each light head was easy to position exactly where I wanted to highlight the fountain.Pros:* Bright illumination that highlights flowing water beautifully* Five selectable white light color temperatures* Built-in timer and dusk-to-dawn photocell sensor* IP68 waterproof construction* Adjustable light heads for precise positioning* Easy installation* Perfect for fountains, ponds, waterfalls, and other landscape featuresCons:* Spend a few extra minutes adjusting the light angles for the best effect.* Verify the cable length is suitable for your fountain setup before purchasing.Final Verdict:Overall, these fountain lights exceeded my expectations. They transformed my water fountain into a beautiful nighttime feature while the automatic timer and light sensor make them virtually maintenance-free. The build quality, brightness, and flexibility make this an excellent lighting system for outdoor water features, and it easily earns a 5-star rating.

Awesome

Great lights. They are in our lake and they are super bright clean white color. Super easy to install. One suggestion would be weight the bottom of the light so it wants to stay flat.

Quality lights with so many useful features - dusk to dawn, timers, change light color, brightness.

Since the list price for these six pond lights is $83, before they arrived, I really hoped they would end up being good quality lights that are worth the list price. When I first took the lights out of the box and handled them and even before I tested them out, I could clearly tell that they were very well-made. They didn't look or feel cheaply made at all. Instead they felt very durable and clearly built to work underwater. The next I thing I noticed was how long the cord was, which is great for my situation because my outdoor outlet is about 10 feet away from my fountain. The cord is about 17 feet from the plug to the first light and there is about 7 feet of cord between each light. So, you are able to set the light up in a large pond, fountain or pool. My fountain is not that large at all, but even so, the extra length allowed me to run it in a path that helped hide it. And I was sble to easily ziptie and hide any extra length of cord between the lights. The lights ended up looking great underwater and on their brightest setting, they shine really bright. And you have the option to dim the light, change the color, and customize and choose so many more settings and options. The lights have a dusk to dawn sensor, so you can choose to set them to turn on when it gets dark out and turn back off when the the sun rises again. It also a bunch of timer options that you can choose from 2 to 12 hours. And it has a memory function, so it remembers the last setting you chose, which means every time the lights back on, it turns on with your last chosen settings, such as the light color and brightness.Whenever I see that a product comes with a 24 month warranty, which these lights do, it usually means that it is a well-made product that the manufacturer is confident is built to last for years without any issues. And that is exactly the case with these lights which are made with strong waterproof sealing. And the lights are rated to last 60,000 hours, which is the equivalent of keeping the lights on 24/7 for about 7 years straight. If you want high quality pond lights that are well-built and have so many useful options and settings, then I highly recommend these, which are definitely worth the list price.

UL certification claimed -- but probably lacking

Unlike some other reviewers, the required transformer/ control box was included with our light set. The ABS plastic light housing can’t corrode, a big plus. Helpful informational booklet. It includes an offer of a complimentary accessory such as replacement LED bulbs, an extension cord, or wind chimes as a “thank you” for choosing this product. The six LED bulbs are very, very bright. They can be dimmed slightly by depressing the control button down for several seconds (rather than simply clicking it). Color temperature can also be adjusted, from a warm yellowish-white to a cool bluish-white. There is not a RBG color function.Use can be automated via the control box’s timer and photo-sensor functions. One mode is auto-on at dusk/ off at dawn. A second function is an auto timer. If used in a fish pond, I highly recommend that the auto photo-timer be adjusted to give fish adequate nocturnal darkness so they can fully rest during short summer nights. Not surprisingly, the transformer/ control box can’t be submerged. It needs to be located in a dry, safe location. Placing the transformer inside a zip-seal bag will add extra protection against inclement weather (the partially closed “zip” permits the cords to extend out).My husband has an electronics background. He has extensive experience installing and working with low voltage products and offers helpful guidance:The lead cable measures over 16 ft; cable length between each of the six lights is 6.7 feet. Cables can’t be shortened. If these lights are being installed in a relatively small pond the excess length can be managed by looping them to take up the slack, then securing the wrap with a zip tie. Cover the looped cables with gravel or lava rock so fish can’t become entangled. The online description claims “...a 16.4ft UL-certified lead cable...” and “Specification Met: ETL, FCC, UL “. However, there is not a UL seal on the cable, lights, transformer or instructional booklet. This set was made in China, so we are very concerned that the UL certification claim is likely inaccurate. They are probably safe – but we always feel reassured by UL certification (and its extensive testing). This nice set is too large and too bright for our 2,600 gallon koi pond. However, it is very well suited for nestling along a walkway or in foliage. I’m very cautious and protective of our beautiful koi. Even if the size and intensity was well-suited for our pond, because of the probable lack of UL certification, I’m more comfortable utilizing them in landscaping.
