Why this one is sealed

The LED in this light is integrated — not a bulb you take out. A well light lives at grade, in the wettest spot in the yard, so the LED, its driver and the lens are one sealed unit — IP67 — with nothing to unscrew and nothing for water to find.

So there is no cap to unscrew. When it fails, the unit you replace is the light, and inside the warranty that replacement is ours — order number, product name, one photo.

The path lights, the spotlight and the bulbs are built the other way, with a stock bulb you can pull. We say which is which on every page.

Base of a tree A foot or two out from the trunk, so the beam climbs the bark into the canopy.

How many, and which transformer

Count the trees and walls, not the feet. Every load below is this light at 12 W, with the transformer sized to 80% of its rating.

A 200 W transformer carries 13 of these, a 300 W carries 20, a 600 W carries 40. On a mixed run, add the path lights and spotlights before you decide.

Putting it in

Dig the hole an inch deeper than the light, put gravel in the bottom so water drains, set the light flush, clip the connector on the main wire, power up, backfill. Step by step

What the numbers mean

12 W and 1200 lumens is a tree light, not a path light. It goes at the base of a trunk or a wall and throws up.

12 watts a light: a 200 W transformer runs 13, a 300 W runs 20, a 600 W runs 40. Six on one run is 72 W.

Die-cast aluminum all the way round: at grade it sits in wet soil, sprinkler water and fertilizer, and it carries the ten-year aluminum warranty.

Questions people ask

Does water pool in it?

Set it on a few inches of gravel so the hole drains; the light itself is IP67 and does not mind being wet. It must not sit submerged — for that, the pond light.

Is it too bright for a path?

Yes. 1200 lumens straight up is for trunks and walls. Beside a path it is in your eyes — use a path light there.

Can a car drive over it?

It is not rated for vehicles. Beside a drive, set it in the lawn strip where the tires do not go.

Will it run on the 12 V transformer I already own?

Input is 12–24 V AC or DC, which covers standard landscape transformers. At 12 W a light, count the load: 13 on a 200 W.

Is a transformer included?

No. The box has six well lights and a connector for each. They run on a 12 V landscape transformer and direct-burial main wire — ours are the 2-Zone Transformer and Landscape Wire. Already have a system? They go on it.

What is the warranty?

Ten years on the aluminum fixture. A claim is the order number, the product name and one photo; the replacement ships from the U.S. warehouse. Warranty terms
