More often than not, when you order something like this, its clearly made on the inexpensive side, corners are cut and lower quality materials are used. This is not one of those items. It is well made down to the instruction manual. The housing is about 10 inches tall, about 4.5 inches from front to back, and the width is about 6 inches from side to side. There is a heavy duty grounded power cord and a photo cell sensor for the light sensor, the sensor is on the end of a almost 7 feet long cable so you have plenty of length to run the sensor out to where it gets full sun, The instruction manual is DETAILED, there many options from 4, 6 , or 8 hours or AUTO that runs from dusk to dawn. There are also two zones so you can have power to two different locations/runs from one power supply. The 300 watt power supply provides plenty of power to run multiple lights. There is a 12volt supply and 14 volts for those longer runs where the power drops off towards the end of the supply line. This feature is available on BOTH sides of the supply. I mentioned the instruction manual is really well written, its thorough in explaining the features and how to set the timers and run the drops to the lights. There are also mounting screws/wall anchors included, In my opinion, this transformer needs a solid surface, something solid to hold the weight. It is heavier than it looks, a little over 11 pounds. I also like the long photo sensor cord, this is a nice unit and keeping it under a deck or out of the weather would be nice. Keep the nicer stuff protected and it lasts longer. Really impressed with the look of the unit and design of the control panel. The manual goes into detail about controls and options. This will probably supply most of my needs in the front yard and down the driveway. If I needed another, this would definately be the go to addition. Seems really solid and well made. My 10 gauge is needed because I got quite a distance to reach my furthest lights.-I would have liked to have seen a longer extension or enclosure area on the bottom to protect the incoming wires better.CONCLUSION:Not sure how long the keypad and buttons will stay weatherproof if this is out in direct sun and rain. It is listed to be waterproof, but not our thing is it says it is. I don't have that much load on it so I can tell you if it meets the 300 watch listed writing or not. Overall, the price point is about right with other ones that I have purchased, but can't speak to its longevity at this point.PRO TIP:You could take the screws out of the wire terminals, put your wire in and then thread the screw back in.
